“Raptors: A fast, nerdy tour of Michigan’s stabby sky goblins ” by Kaitlyn Bohnet
Join the co-founder of North Sky Raptor Sanctuary to dive into all things raptor rehabilitation and rescue.
Kaitlyn Bohnet is the co‑founder and Executive Director of North Sky Raptor Sanctuary, where she spends her days juggling injured birds of prey, complex logistics, and the controlled chaos of running a wildlife hospital. A leader in Michigan’s rehabilitation community, she works across agencies and organizations to improve outcomes for birds of prey and the humans who care for them. Kaitlyn blends science, storytelling, and unapologetic bird‑nerdery to make raptor conservation accessible, collaborative, and occasionally hilarious.
“Moll Cutpurse the Roaring Girl: 17th Century London’s Most Notorious Thief” by Lisa Rabey
Mary Frith was a 17th Century thief who was also known to be the first woman in England to smoke as well as the first female comedian. She was nicknamed “Moll Cutpurse” for “Moll” indicating she had dubious reputation and “Cutpurse” for her ruthless tendency for pick pocketing. Mary was also known as The Roaring Girl as she rejected society’s norms and mocked the upper classes. Join Lisa as she gives you a walk through Mary’s life and why she was so amazing (and an inspiration).
Lisa Rabey is a mercenary librarian who eats information for a living. She lives in Leelanau County with her partner (who she sometimes likes) and their persnickety pug (who sometimes likes her). Lisa can be found at https://lisarabey.com.
Be there and be square!
