Are we excited about this month’s Nerd Nite? You betcha, and we hope to see you there! This month we’re taking a lil’ dive into history both from the way back and the local perspective. You’ll find us at Tank Space on 8th on the last Thursday of the month at 7p ready to be schooled. Details below!
Where: Tank Space (1110 East Eighth Street, Traverse City, MI)
When: Thursday, February 26th, 7 – 9p (doors open at 6:30p)
How: Show up! There is no cover for this event, but seats are limited and first come, first served.
What: Presentations this month:
“Fun and Interesting Facts about Oakwood Cemetery” by Peg Siciliano
Peg Siciliano was the Traverse Area Historical Society Archivist for eight years and is a TAHS Board member. She has a Master’s Degree in American History, and occasionally publishes local history articles in the Record Eagle.
“The Edwardians” by Lisa Rabey
Lisa Rabey is many things including a librarian, writer, and a former liquor store manager. She’s worked in academic, special, and public libraries. She’s been called a mercenary librarian as she’s currently working at three libraries in the Traverse City area. She lives with her husband (who she sometimes likes) and her pernickety pug, Thursday, in Leelanau County. Lisa reads heaving bosom books and watches trash TV.
Be there and be square!
If you’re interested in presenting at an upcoming NNTC, let us know. We’d love to feature speakers from our community!
